A New York Metropolitan Transit Authority worker is facing drunk driving charges and has been suspended from duty without pay after the bus he was driving allegedly crashed into a row of parked cars in Brooklyn during the early morning hours of Aug. 5. None of the nine passengers on board at the time suffered injuries according to media reports. Police say that the accident took place near the intersection of East 56th Street and Flatlands Avenue at approximately 1:30 a.m.

Woman charged with DWI after crashing into restaurant

A 79-year-old woman crashed her vehicle into a restaurant in Westchester County at about 7:45 p.m. on May 6, according to New York police. The restaurant was Enzo’s on Mamaroneck Avenue, and the crash left nine people injured. Four of the victims suffered critical injuries, and one victim was treated at the scene while eight others were sent to the hospital for care. The 23-year-old man from Westmoreland was found after a call came into local police, reporting that a driver was laying over the steering wheel of a car while stopped at Lawrence Street and Dix Road. An officer said that a Dodge Charger was weaving around traffic cones and going the wrong way when it swerved into a middle lane and collided with a bus. Of the 15 people on the bus at the time of the accident, four sustained injuries and were taken to Hoboken University Medical Center.
