Lino focuses on Criminal defense and appeals, Civil litigation, and Wills, Trusts & Estates.

Since joining ABK in January 2022, Lino has brought his prior experience in the Kings County District Attorney’s Office to courtrooms across all five boroughs of NYC, the outer counties, and Federal Court. Lino handles a wide range of criminal cases ranging from Criminal Summonses to DWI’s to high-profile Homicides, Gang Conspiracies and White-Collar Crimes. Lino regularly oversees these cases from inception to their ultimate disposition: facilitating and expediting the arraignment process, arguing and securing release pending trial, drafting complex and substantive motions that have led to favorable outcomes for clients, and dissected cases involving voluminous discovery.

In his time at ABK, Lino continues to be a courtroom litigator: he has been part of the trial team on two homicide cases, a robbery in the first-degree case which resulted in a complete acquittal, first-chaired three pre-trial suppression hearings and a misdemeanor DWI bench trial, obtaining an acquittal.

Prior to joining as an Associate at Aidala, Bertuna and Kamins, Lino served over six years as an Assistant District Attorney at the Kings County District Attorney’s Office. As a Brooklyn Prosecutor, Lino investigated and prosecuted violent felonies including attempted murders, gang shootings, felony assaults, home invasions, robberies, gun possessions and vehicular homicides – many of which garnered significant media attention.

During his tenure, Lino gained extensive courtroom experience: He secured over 150 indictments before the Kings County Grand Jury, cross-examined defendants, conducted and co-chaired numerous preliminary hearings, evidentiary suppression hearings and trials. In recognition of his investigative and advocative skills, Lino was promoted to Senior Assistant District Attorney in 2020.

Lino’s experience as a seasoned Assistant District Attorney provides him with first-hand understanding of how prosecutors build and develop their cases, which is crucial to knowing how to build a strong defense.

Lino received his Bachelor of Arts Summa Cum Laude in Political Science from the Macaulay Honors College in the City University of New York at Baruch College with a minor in Law and Policy. He continued his education by attending the City University of New York’s School of Law and receiving his Juris Doctor Degree in 2015. While attending law school, Lino was involved in the Law School’s Mediation Clinic as a Student Mediator. In that capacity, Lino co-mediated cases in Queens and Brooklyn Small Claims Court and assisted as second-chair in an Employment Discrimination case in U.S. Federal District Court.

Active member of the Brooklyn Criminal Bar Association.

Lino is fluent in the Italian Language.
