Arthur Aidala garnered attention as the lawyer who represented Harvey Weinstein and others splattered over the tabloids before taking on clients in the president’s orbit. Donald Trump even considered him for Brooklyn U.S. attorney, but Aidala instead has defended the president’s policies in media appearances. Now, Aidala’s most prominent local client is Frank Carone, the former chief of staff to then-Mayor Eric Adams who was indicted in June in a federal corruption investigation for allegedly accepting $120,000 to steer a migrant shelter contract to a Queens hotel owner. Carone pleaded not guilty.
