ALLEGED DRUG KINGPIN HID HEROIN WITH BABY WIPES

A Queens man, Gustavo Adolfo Solis, AKA “Chili”,  was arranged in Manhattan Supreme Court on Thursday on charges of drug conspiracy and criminal sale of a controlled substance after investigators say they observed him leaving a known stash house with a heroin filled tub of Huggies baby wipes that were inside a plastic Babies R Us bag.

Prosecutors say that the cartoon decorated tub contained one pound of heroin  secreted beneath the freshly scented baby wipes. Investigators recovered the tub and it is now being used as evidence against Gustavo Adolfo Solis. Solis is one of six indicted in a conspiracy to distribute heroin and a whopping 3 pounds of crystal meth in NYC and Pennsylvania.

Although the alleged crimes occurred  in Queens, the case is being handled by Bridget Brennan, the city’s special narcotics prosecutor, who is in charge of investigating large scale drug enterprises and prosecuting significant drug-related arrests. As such, the case will be prosecuted to the fullest. For Solis, even if this is his first arrest, he could be facing up to 20 years behind bars. In situations such as this, it is all the more important to discuss the details of the case with a knowledgeable Manhattan or Brooklyn criminal defense attorney. Determining the legality of the search of the baby wipe container, who owns or leases the stash house, and who was observed making drug sales could be pivotal when determining the outcome of the case.
