Vikram Chatwal in court as model ex gets remarried

While troubled hotelier Vikram Chatwal got a slap on the wrist Tuesday for trying to set two dogs on fire in Soho — his gorgeous model ex-wife Priya Sachdev has just married wealthy industrialist Sunjay Kapur in India.

Dream Hotels founder Chatwal was in court after running down Wooster Street in October screaming, “The dogs must die,” and lighting two Jack Russells on fire.

He was seen holding an aerosol can and lighter, and the dogs suffered minor burns.

When Manhattan Judge Gerianne Abriano asked Chatwal if he “attempted to cause serious physical injury to two dogs,” he answered. “Yes, Your Honor.”

His lawyers have said he suffers from bipolar disorder.

Chatwal, 45, was ordered to serve five days of community service, to continue mental-health treatment, submit to random drug testing and live with his parents under the deal.

He pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor and violation.

Chatwal’s name will also be added to the animal-abuse registry, and he is barred from owning a pet for five years.

“Vikram just needs to hit the reset button on life,” said his lawyer Arthur Aidala. “This was a horrible 30 seconds of his life that we are going to put behind us.”

Meanwhile, Sachdev married Kapur in Delhi on April 13. They are celebrating with a party in New York this week.

Chatwal’s 2006 multimillion-dollar wedding to Sachdev lasted 10 days, across three cities in India, and was attended by 600 guests including Bill Clinton and Deepak Chopra. They separated in 2011.
