According to New York police, a man was taken into custody for a DWI after an accident in Perth on Feb. 15. Authorities say that the 50-year-old had a blood alcohol content of .29 percent. When the man's sister went to pick him up, she did so while also under the influence of alcohol. The 51-year-old women had a blood alcohol content of .22 percent when she arrived.
Fentanyl is a synthetic narcotic that black market drug dealers have been adding to heroin and cocaine supplies according to a statement from a special narcotics prosecutor in New York City. An investigation led by the Queens Narcotics Major Case Squad confirmed this trend when it arrested a suspected drug trafficker and found large amounts of fentanyl valued at $10 million in his car.

The federal trial of an alleged ex-mob boss turned restaurateur opened on Jan. 30 in New York. The man is accused of collecting gambling debts for an East Coast crime syndicate and running a health care fraud that involved bribing doctors to write fake prescriptions. The man's defense attorney says he is being framed by other people who have an interest in trying to benefit themselves with the accusations. According to the man's attorney, he simply has a gambling problem that has made him vulnerable.
